First off, thanks and shout out to everyone in Parksville who showed up for our gig at the OCAC's Saturday Night Breakfast! I couldn't have anticipated a better evening and we can't wait to come back and rock with you guys again. The night was so awesome that Walker blew his amp.

Dead Horse
Big thanks everyone who came out to support us last weekend at the Last Waltz of the Chrome Horse! The night was a kick ass affair involving EVERYONE in the Nanaimo music scene [whether you like us or not!] and featured over twenty bands. Walker and I made it until 5:45 am but alas being vampires we had to be home before the sunrise. Special thanks to Nimai, Jimmy and Jill for rocking especially hard that night.

Search Engine
A few weeks ago I recorded an interview with the CBC Radio program Search Engine, and it was broadcast nationally yesterday at 11:30! "What the heck, Joey, why didn't you tell us before YESTERDAY?" you ask. Well I didn't find out until 8:00 PM when my loving parentals called and asked if I heard the interview. Thanks for the word up, CBC! Good thing you're not like, a broadcast corporation or anything!
Anyways, the world is not at a transistorial end as you can download the podcast in MP3 form here.
The story has also been featured on the tech blog boingboing.net, though apparently Cory Doctorow failed to see the humor of the story...
"In this week's CBC Search Engine podcast, there's a hilarious interview with "Joey Chaos," a teenaged new-wave goth rocker who's upset that some roboticists in Texas "stole" his name and look for their robot. The Search Engine folks point out that there are plenty of other Joey Chaoses, even bringing one on the line. "

Well Cory, thanks a fucking lot for your insight but I'm well aware of the other Joey Chaos' in the world and even mentioned them during the interview. Good thing that that part was edited out, otherwise I would have sounded completely stupid instead of only partly.
This was a bit of a bomb. But at least I was on CBC!
February 21, 2008
Dropping names like bombs on the dance floor, Joey Chaos is back in action after a year of captivity in Texas while Hanson Robotics re-engineered him as a cybernetic protocol droid. The show is on Friday the 29 of February and is all ages.
Aided by the almighty Axe of Walker, the altruistic duo is ready to knock your socks off. Vote with your feet to the ultra heavy beat! The show is at the Chrome Horse in downtown Nanaimo next to CHLY - Kind of below Vicoria Crescent off of the China Steps.

P[aper b]LOG and DJ Set
Good news, everyone! I'm re-recording the track "Look At You Now" for a compilation album put out by Plog, a zine based out of Toronto. I just recorded the vocal tracks at buyproduct studios with Brad Wutke and I'm just taking a break from mixing. I'll be posting it on MySpace and on the site for free as a high quality MP3 [320 KPBS encoded in LAME] file as soon as the zine is released.
In other news I'm DJing in Victoria again for Tribal Machine on Saturday, January 26 at Logan's Pub.
November 25, 2007
Big reason for lack of output recenlty is due to the fact that my friend and guitarist Kevin have gone our seperate ways. It's been hard for me, without Kevin I would never have recorded an album, let alone perform a show.
In more uplifting news, I do have a new guitarist (Walker) and we're slowly refining the live show. It looks like shows will have to wait for the new year but we are performing a one song set at The Pixies Tribute in Nanaimo at The Chrome Horse.
August 17, 2007 - Plugged in
Expect some cool stuff in the next while! Aside from your regular Joey Chaos programming there will be some fun asides with my Radio program, Prelude to Darkness which you can listen to every Tuesday from 9:00 - 11:00 on CHLY 101.7 FM if you're in the Vancouver Island area, or online at www.chly.ca for global listening pleasure. Upcoming are an interview with Vancouver ethereal electronic project, Liliny, as well as an interview with Ronan Harris of VNV Nation in September!
